BHA: A Community Meeting Place
When Kenya took measures to mitigate the spread of Covid 19, all schools and public spaces were closed. This had a profound
impact on Building Hope Academy and on the Ewaso Ngiro community. Usually, students receive two meals per day at school. With school closures, meals were not available. With markets closed there was no access to food and no place to sell livestock. The Building Hope Society was able to help. On April 5th, 2020, the first tranche of money was wired to purchase a truckload of food that was distributed to the community. Further monthly donations were sent to purchase food throughout the pandemic, allowing the villagers to remain in their local area, reducing the spread of Covid 19. On behalf of this very special community, Asante Sana.
