Construction of a Kitchen/Dining Room at Building Hope Academy

Fundraising Began:  Fall 2016
Building Completed: Summer 2017
Cost: $33 000 CAD
A major struggle for parents in this Maasai community is feeding their families.  The students at Building Hope Academy receive two nutritious meals each day.  Some of the food comes directly from the on-site garden, made possible by the reliable water well.   Initially, the meals were prepared using a combination of outside cooking and using the small kitchen in the teacher's quarters.  The spacious new kitchen/dining facility has made the preparation of meals easier, has freed up the teacher's quarters and gives the students an indoor place to eat.  In the fall of 2018, a beautiful gas cooker was purchased and installed in the kitchen.  It is being used to prepare the meals for the students.
